Privacy policy

Last updated 15 October 2026

stage.church (“we”) provides software that churches use to organise events, groups, volunteers, announcements, forms and attendance. This policy explains what personal data the service processes and why.

Who is responsible

Each church that uses stage.church decides what data it collects about its members and is the controller of that data. We process it on the church’s behalf to provide the service. For your stage.church account itself, we are the controller.

What we process

  • Account details: name, email address and a password hash, or the identity returned by Google or Microsoft when you sign in with them (name, email and an account identifier).
  • Church membership: the churches and branches you belong to, your roles, and optional profile fields you choose to share.
  • Activity in a church: event RSVPs, form responses and uploads, volunteer assignments, attendance records and announcements.
  • Technical data: session cookies needed to keep you signed in, security logs, and an anti-abuse check (Cloudflare Turnstile) on sign-in and sign-up.

Google and Microsoft sign-in

If you sign in with Google or Microsoft we receive only your basic profile (name, email address and account identifier) to create and secure your account. We do not access your mail, files, contacts or calendar, and we do not sell or share this data for advertising.

Email

We send account emails (verification, invitations) and, where your church enables them, notification emails. You can turn notification emails off in My church or with the one-click unsubscribe link in each email. Emails are delivered by our email provider, Brevo.

Where data is stored

The service runs on Cloudflare’s infrastructure. We use service providers (such as Cloudflare and Brevo) only to operate the service.

Your rights

You can view and update your profile, change email preferences and delete your account from within the app. For data held by your church, contact your church’s administrators; they can export church data. Depending on where you live you may also have rights to access, correct, erase or port your data, and to complain to a data protection authority.

Special categories of data

Church membership can reveal religious belief. Churches should only record what they need and should obtain any consent required by law.

Deleting your data

See how to delete your account and data. Cookies are described in our cookie policy.
